  • Release Notes v.2024-11-03: Instant previews, transfers to subfolder

Hello everyone,
I am happy to announce that instant previews are now available!

You now will see an additional "Preview" button which loads a selected style without storing in on your keyboard's drive. This way you can try as many styles as you like until you find what you want to keep without worrying about cleaning up unneeded files.

It also makes loading styles so much more convenient. You don't have to manually go to USER section to find the style you just downloaded and load it. Everything is now truly happens in 1 click - a style is loaded with ACMP=On and Sync Start=On, so you just need to touch a chord to start playing.

The existing Transfer feature was also upgraded with auto load abilities, so you don't have to load the styles you transfer manually anymore. Basically the only difference between Preview and Transfer currently is that Transfer also stores a style on your drive, while Preview doesn't.

There are also new Transfer Settings available where you can specify a subfolder where to transfer styles if you don't want them in the root of USER section. And also there is an option to disable the auto load feature when transferring styles if you want to keep the old behavior.

I also made previews and transfers available right on the Styles page so it's easy to try all the newly uploaded styles.

Achieving accurate 1 click previews is something I dreamed of since day one and it finally works just like I hoped it would, without any compromises.

Previews (and Transfers) currently work only on PSR-SX and Genos series. If you want this feature expanded to older keyboards I think it should be possible, but I would need some help from the older keyboard owners, you can read more about it here.

Thank you!

Congratulations on making these quantum improvements is the ways that we can audition styles. I have been testing preview without transfer with both styles fully compatible with my keyboard and also with styles from later and better models. All previews worked seamlessly - just like having the style on the keyboard in user area or on USB.

Preview using the transfer option allows me to create a registration on the spot and link it to my sheet music in MobileSheets. That is, if I want to keep it.

I did notice that the previews of some styles created by we mortal users did have some balance issues - necessitating adjustments in the Mixer/EQ department - but still the style easily and quickly assessed.

    Well done!

I have tested it on Genos2 and it works, still at the first attempt (reference to earlier post). This is a gamechanger for getting more reviews on styles. I am impressed have fast you are able to develope new features to this already great site.

Me too, tested with Genos2, works like a charm. It is very nice to be able to listen the style before downloading to the keyboard. This was just the function I was looking forπŸ‘

        Hi, Style Player!
        I have a SX900
I tried the instant style preview.
        Thanks! It's really very convenient.
        But here's what I found:

        1. After the first style preview, all the registration memory on my instrument disappears. Is this a content error or is it designed this way?
        2. When previewing styles, the tempo of the style does not change. I have to press the Tempo buttons (-) and (+) to hear the correct tempo of the style I'm previewing.
Is this also a content error?
          Thank You!

Yakubov Yes the registration memory is cleared since it uses registrations to load styles into the memory. If you have unsaved registrations the keyboard should prompt you to save them first. If you don't want it to touch your registrations you can disable "Load after Transfer" and then use the Transfer button which will work like before. I don't think it is possible to solve the registration reset side effect unfortunatelly.

Regarding the tempo, yeah didn't think of that, will make a note to also load the default style tempo during the preview. Perhaps it should be an option, as sometimes you want the tempo to remain. Thank you.
