  • Style Play On PC using JJazz Lab "Syle Preview through PC Speakers"

I have recently come across a program on the PC called JJazz Lab. This program is a similar to
Band in a Box but much more basic. I have tryed many Style Audutioning program but this one is very good.

Hers a few key points
--. It runs on Yamaha styles. You can create songs quickly using the style of your choice and the simple cord song sheet.
-- it is free open source , works on various style brands beyond Yamaha
--You can output the sound through the built in synth or connect it to your PSR by Midi therefore using your keyboards internal sound card.
--When audutioning styles you can create a chord progression with intro, variaition 1,2 etc, and quickly go through styles to find the one that best suits. it allows you to adjust mix and change instruments.
--It does not allow you to save changes to the style itself for export but it allows you to create a complete midi song
-- JJazz Lab calls styles..... Rhythms this can be confusung at first.

I would seem to me that with some colaboration with JJazz Lab and StylePlayer the desire for "Syle Preview through PC Speakers" could be acheived. It is possible now to copy a style fron StylePlayer download to JJazz Lab and audition it but this requires a few.

It would be great to a have a menu item in StylePlayer that would connect directly to JJazz Lab for play back withot having to hunt copy and paste the style.

I just installed the program, and it looks fascinating, however, I cannot find an option to play a Yamaha .sty file to audition or a way to import one.

the site does not have style player yet so you have 3 options.

  1. download the file to your PC download folder by clicking the down arrow by the style name.
Put the syle on a usb stick and load it on your keyboard.

  2. connect a usb cable from your pc to your keyboard and load the file directly into the User area then select it. ( this is the best way)

  3. use a Style File player on your PC. Most of these dont sound very good. JJazz Lab being an exception.

If you want to go the Jazz Lab route i will to try to do a video clip of how to play the style . I is actually quite simple once you figure it out

Good Luck
